Takis Shelter has been a leader for a long time when it comes to the neglected and abandoned dogs in Greece. It’s not an easy job, but we’re thankful that someone is willing to donate the majority of their time and resources to doing it. For Takis himself, the reward in the end is worth all of the hard work.

Take this rescue below for example. As he approached a dog who was chained up to a wall, he was saddened to see that she was skin and bones. It was hard to tell exactly how long she’d been tethered here, but she was certainly neglected and mostly forgotten about. The sweet girl just wanted help, and she wagged her tail upon seeing the man, writes ilovemydogsomuch.

As he walked over to free her from the wall, she was so excited to get going! The dog was ready to see everything the world had to offer and feel the love of being a pet. These reactions are just part of what makes it all worth it.
