SEVERAL REALISTIC SCULPTURES MADE OF WOOD, FROM WHICH GOOSEBUMPS RUN ON THE SKIN

“First I see an image in a piece of material, and then I just let it emerge.” This is how many famous sculptors describe the process of their work. Sometimes their creations look so realistic that it even becomes a little uncomfortable. However, it is beyond your power to look away from them. In this selection, luxurious wooden sculptures are collected, in which the bright individuality and soul of the master can be felt. Look closely: they seem warm to the touch even in the photo!

The largest wooden sculpture in the world

In 2013, this work of art entered the Guinness Book of Records as the largest wooden sculpture. The Chinese Zheng Chunhui transformed the trunk of a dried tree into a sculpture 12 m long, 3 m high and 2.5 m wide. The carving was made in detail based on the famous canvas “Across the River on Memorial Day”, which depicts the human life and landscapes of the town of Bianjing, famous today as Kaifin.
